Install Steps:

  • First, begin with removing the OEM Airbox and
    the bottom rubber mount bracket holding the original
    airbox. Handle the MAF sensor with care - place it on a clean piece
    of cloth so it does not get damaged during the install process.
  • Now, you are ready to drop in the new heat-shield.

1. Make sure the heatshield’s bottom bracket and the mount on the right are properly aligned as shown below.

2.  Use the provided bolt and metal washer to tighten down the heatshield’s right mount as shown below.

3. Use the provided nut to

tighten down the heatshield’s bottom bracket as shown below.

APPLICATION:

  • Heat-shield specifically designed for E46 applications
  • Compatible with any intake tube for air intake
  • Compatible with any MAF pipe 4.4 inch (110mm) or smaller, including all Vortex MAF pipes for E46 (Please see our other listings for E46 MAF pipes)
  • Almost all E46 aftermarket MAF Pipes are smaller than 4 inches in diameter - all compatible with this Heat-Shield
  • 4.4 inch (110mm) or smaller diameter for any intake tube to pass through
  • Allows for the use of cone air filters with 3/3.5/4 inch inlet diameter
  • Replaces your OEM air box
  • Uses the existing right mount hole and the bottom stud to mount
  • Plug & Play for the E46 application

INSTALL NOTES:

  • (IF MAF PIPE IS PURCHASED) DESIGNED FOR A TIGHT FIT, GENTLY FEED MAF PIPE THROUGH OPENING HOLE IN HEATSHIELD (IT WILL BE A TIGHT FIT), USE TWISTING MOTION AND GENTLY FEED MAF PIPE THROUGH BEFORE YOU INSTALL THIS ON YOUR E46.

MOUNT-POINTS:

  • RIGHT MOUNT
  • BOTTOM MOUNT
  • HAVE YOUR MAF PIPE ALREADY FED THROUGH HEAT SHIELD AND ALREADY CONNECTED WITH CLAMP TO OEM INTAKE ELBOW BEFORE BEGINNING TO TIGHTEN UP THE MOUNT POINTS. INSTALL CONE FILTER LAST.

THIS HEAT-SHIELD IS DESIGNED TO BE USED WITH:

  • VORTEX E46 MAF PIPES OR EQUIVALENT
  • ANY MAF PIPE DIAMETER 110MM/4.4 INCH, OR SMALLER
